From the Centre for Policy Studies — Taking Back Control report
Proportion of household reference persons in social housing by country of birth (England and Wales, Census 2021). Somali-born residents have the highest rate at ~75%, followed by Other Africa and Jamaica at ~55–60%. The UK-born rate is ~25%. Countries are colour-coded by region: dark blue = EEA, grey = non-EEA OECD, gold = non-EEA non-OECD.Annual share of new social housing lets to non-UK nationals in England, 2007/08 – 2022/23. The share has risen from ~6% to over 10.5%, with a temporary dip during COVID in 2020/21.
